Do I need one?
If you are using a diesel air compressor, yes. Diesel compressors discharge hot, wet air, and that air can cause trouble in a dry ice blaster.
Air preparation
It cools and dries compressor air before that air reaches the blaster. An aftercooler air dryer is not part of every rental.

You need an aftercooler air dryer when you are blasting from a diesel air compressor. When renting a dry ice blasting system with a diesel compressor, Dry Ice Gear requires their use.
Customers often hear this equipment called an aftercooler. These aftercoolers are engineered to efficiently cool, filter, and dry the hot, moist air produced by diesel air compressors. Equipped with moisture and coalescing filters, they reliably supply clean, cool, and dry air to your blasting equipment. It is not a dry ice blaster and it does not have a dry ice hopper. It sits on wheels in a steel frame.
