Blasting machines

The Aero 40 and Aero 80 are full-pressure pellet blasters. The PLT 60 and PCS 60 are the digital Aero2 machines, not the newer Ultra models.

Aero 40

Smaller full-pressure blaster

Workhorse machine with a 40 pound hopper. It is the smallest machine, and the easiest to move around.

Where it is stronger

The smallest of the four and the easiest to move. It is a full-pressure pellet blaster with a 40 lb hopper, a max feed rate of 6.0 lb/min, and blast pressure up to 250 psi. Published weight is 257 lb.

Use it when

Use it when the job does not need the Aero 80’s hopper or 300 psi, and you want the lighter machine to roll into place.

Against the other machines

Against the Aero 80, it holds half the ice and stops at 250 psi instead of 300. Against the PLT 60, it is not the digital Aero2, and it holds 20 lb less ice. Against the PCS 60, it cannot change particle size, but it is published for higher blast pressure: up to 250 psi instead of 145. All four machines share a max feed rate of 6.0 lb/min.

Hoses

Extra blast hose and extra air hose, beyond the lengths included with a rental.

Extension blast hoses

Extra reach from the machine

You may need these when the machine will not fit in a hard-to-reach place, or when you are blasting from a lift. They link onto the included 20 ft blast hose.

Use them when

Use them when the machine will not fit in a hard-to-reach place, or when you are blasting from a lift. The blaster can stay on the ground while the hose goes up in the basket. Two sections add 40 ft. Three add 60 ft.

Match the machine

The PCS 60 uses a 3/4 inch blast path. The PLT 60 uses a 1 inch blast path. Tell us which machine you are renting and how far the hose needs to go.

Air dryers

A diesel compressor must use an air dryer. The photo is the 350. The 700 is the larger size.

Command Air 350

Cools and dries compressor air

You need an air dryer when you are blasting from a mobile air compressor. A diesel compressor must use one. It is not part of every rental.

Use it when

Use one when you are blasting from a mobile air compressor. A diesel compressor must use one. It discharges hot, wet air, and the dryer cools that air and knocks out moisture before the blaster.

What the rental includes

The dryer rental includes the extra 25 ft air hose from the compressor to the dryer. That hose is part of the dryer rental.

Flat end

The blast leaves in a line. Use it when you can face the surface. A rental includes one nozzle of your choice.

This example

The 323S1 is a 3 series nozzle, 23 inches long, with a straight 1 inch end. A smaller end is for when you need more power.
