Air comes from the compressor, dry ice from the blaster, and both travel through the hose to the gun. The nozzle is the last piece. If the compressor is diesel, the rental also needs an aftercooler air dryer.

A Cold Jet 323S1 straight nozzle with a flat metal end.

Straight

Flat end. The blast leaves in a line when you can face the surface. A smaller end is for when you need more power. This photo is a 323S1.

A shorter straight 312S1 nozzle with a slotted tip.

Straight, shorter

Same flat end, in a shorter body. The slot at the tip is the opening. This photo is a 312S1.

A Cold Jet 523V3 nozzle with a wide 3 inch end and a round adjustment dial.

Wider

Use a wider nozzle when what you are blasting comes off really quickly. This photo is a 523V3: 5 series, 23 inches, with a 3 inch end and the round dial of a variable nozzle.

A Cold Jet 523M1 MERN nozzle with a tip that slants front to back.

MERN

The tip slants front to back. This photo is a 523M1: 5 series, 23 inches, with a 1 inch end. A 5 series nozzle uses more air.

A Cold Jet 323V1 variable nozzle with a round adjustment dial.

Variable

The round dial breaks the dry ice into smaller particles, so the blast is more delicate. This photo is a 323V1: 3 series, 23 inches, with a 1 inch end. The variable nozzles you can choose are below.

A metal nozzle extension tube with threaded fittings.

Extension

This tube adds reach past the gun. It does not change the end. Extension nozzles are 1 foot long and can be linked together.

Straight

Flat end. The blast leaves in a line. A smaller end is for when you need more power.

Shorter

Shorter than the usual 23 inch nozzle.

Wider

A wider end is for when what you are blasting comes off really quickly.

MERN

M is a MERN end. The tip slants front to back.

Variable

The round part is the adjustment. It breaks the dry ice for a more delicate blast.

Longer

Longer than the usual 23 inch nozzle.

How to select a nozzle

Cold Jet nozzles product number tells you what they are. For example, a 523V3 nozzle is a high flow, 23” length, variable pellet size fan nozzle that is three inches wide. Here’s the code.

523V3

  1. Flow Rate

Most of our work is at 100 PSI.

  2. Nozzle Length in Inches

23" is standard for most nozzles. 33", 23", and 12" are common sizes.

  3. Variable, Straight, or MERN Type

  4. Nozzle Width

The smaller the width, the more power generated for blasting. The wider the width, the larger the cleaning pattern.

Variable, high flow, 23 inches, 3 inch end. Use a wider end when what you are blasting comes off really quickly.
